Accra Hearts of Oak outwitted Division One League side Home Stars to advance into the Round of 16 of the 2024/25 MTN FA Cup.
The record-holders of the Cup competition dominated proceedings from the start, producing an eye-catching display at the University of Ghana Stadium.
After a goalless first half, winger Mawuli Wayo opened the scoring with a stunning finish in the 53rd minute, giving the Phobians a well-deserved lead. Enoch Asubonteng doubled the lead with a well-taken goal inside 64 minutes, firing home a well-delivered ball from Martin Karikari.
Martin Karikari grabbed his second assist in the 71st minute as his well-taken corner kick was planted home by Asamoah Boateng, putting the result beyond doubt.
Home Stars pressed for a consolation but Accra Hearts of Oak held firm to win the contest, cruising into the Round of 16 of the MTN FA Cup.
