The Federal Government is set to renovate the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja and other facilities across the state with a whooping N31.4 billion.
The funding for the renovation, a part of the 2025 Appropriation Bill has been stipulated to upgrade some of the critical sports facilities in Nigeria.
Details of the budget show that while the Abuja Stadium main bowl would gulp N12.7 billion, N4 billion has been earmarked for the completion of a high-performance centre for athletes inside stadium.
Also, a total of N4.5 billion of the budget would be used for the construction of the stadium’s sports secretariat.
Subsequently, other mini sports centres across the six regions of the country would gulp N4.4 billion.
In addition to this, N12 million has been allocated for internet band with connectivity via optic fiber and LAN/WAN at the Abuja stadium.
