Per Mahama’s initial appointments, Ghana is likely to end up with a proper SOLID TEAM—Dr. Steve Manteaw

The Co-chair of the Ghana Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative, Dr. Steve Manteaw, believes that Ghana will end up with a solid team thanks to the kind of appointments made by President John Dramani Mahama.

He points to the experience of the first three persons appointed by the President to lead energy, finance, and justice as a clear reflection of how ready the President is for the work ahead of him.

In a post shared via social media, Dr Steve Manteaw enumerated five reasons why he believes that Ghana will likely end up with a proper SOLID TEAM saying:

My Observations on Mahama’s First Set of appointments:

1. It was quick, released on the President’s second day in office.

2. All three are not new to their respective ministries, having served previously as deputy ministers in these ministries. Fair to say they’ve been mentored and groomed for their new roles.

3. All three have relevant qualifications and experience.

4. All three, are youthful, in their 40s and 50s.

5. I have encountered all three, and can attest to their competence.

At this rate, we are likely to end up with a proper SOLID TEAM by the time this exercise is over.

John Dramani Mahama has made his first set of appointments to key sectors of the economy. The first set of appointments are the Finance, Justice and Energy Ministries.
