The Lagos school teacher who abused a three-year-old boy for not being able to write the number six have pleaded not guilty before a Magistrate Court.
Stella Nwadigbo of the Christ-Mitots International School, Ikorodu was arraigned before Magistrate M.O. Kusanu at the Ogba Magistrate Court on Thursday, January 9, 2025, for physically abusing the minor – Abayomi Micheal – in a viral video.
Following her arrest by a team from the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency, Nwadigbo during her arraignment pleaded not guilty to the charges.
A statement by the LDSVA said, “Following the ongoing viral case of child abuse, all concerned parties appeared today, 9th January 2024, at the Ogba Magistrate Court. (sic).
“The matter was assigned to Magistrate M.O. Kusanu. Two charges were read to the suspect, to which she plead not guilty,” the agency said.
It added that the court set Nwadigbo was remanded in correctional facility pending when she meets her bail condition which was set at N200,000 with two verifiable sureties
“The suspect has been remanded in a correctional facility, and the case is adjourned to the 18th January 2024 for trial,” the agency added.
