Political Science lecturer, Prof. Ransford Gyampo, is of the view that the applause that greeted the name of the Burkinabe Leader, Captain Ibrahim Traore points to the fact that Ghanaians are yearning for a drastic change.
During John Dramani Mahama’s investiture, the Burkinabe leader Captain Ibrahim Traore’s name was mentioned to pave the way for him to exchange pleasantries with the president of Ghana.
After his name was mentioned, he received loud applause from people present at the event to the surprise of many.
Reacting to the applause, Prof. Rasnford Gyampo noted that the people of Ghana have seen the change he is causing in Burkina Faso after taking over the leadership of the country.
In a post shared via social media, he urged Ghana’s president to stay focused on delivering on his mandate as president.
“The presence of the Burkinabe Leader and the cheers that greeted the mentioning of his name, points to the yearning of Ghanaians for drastic changes. Over to you, President Mahama. I know you value the huge mandate. Don’t disappoint”
John Dramani Mahama was inaugurated as the president of Ghana on January 7, 2025.
He is now Ghana’s 6th president under the Fourth Republic.
