Nigerian President Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his country’s strong support for Ghana’s newly inaugurated President, John Dramani Mahama.
Speaking at Mahama’s swearing-in ceremony in Accra on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, Tinubu emphasized the importance of regional unity and cooperation between the two nations.
“My dear brother, I am here to walk with you. You know you can count on my support at any given time you call on me. We are your brothers and sisters. We shall always be there for you,” Tinubu stated, offering a clear message of solidarity to Mahama and the people of Ghana.
This show of support is not new. Ghana and Nigeria have long shared strong ties, from political collaboration to cultural exchanges, and Tinubu’s remarks were a reminder of the enduring bond between the two nations.
“We are stronger when we work together,” he added, underlining the significance of their relationship in addressing regional challenges.
Tinubu’s speech highlighted his confidence in Mahama’s leadership, expressing optimism that the new government under Mahama’s stewardship would continue to work closely with Nigeria.
“I am confident that the new government under the leadership of President John Mahama will work with Nigeria to strengthen this powerful bond,” he remarked, further solidifying the notion that Ghana and Nigeria are partners in progress.
