John Dramani Mahama’s outfit for the inauguration has been the centre of attraction for Ghanaians on social media and even on traditional media.

The outfit, which has some form of symbolism, has been hailed by many who believe that the president carefully chose his outfit to represent what he stands for as he takes over power again.

  • Sankofa: which signifies learning from the past,
  • Dwennimmen: which represents strength with humility, and
  • Nyame Dua: “tree of god”-alter: symbol of God’s presence and protection

John Dramani Mahama was inaugurated today as the president of Ghana.

He becomes Ghana’s 6th president under the Fourth Republic.

John Dramani Mahama is, however, coming in for his second term after he failed to win the 2016 elections.

John Dramani Mahama, 66, is expected to tackle familiar challenges, including corruption, high unemployment, inflation and public discontent.
