Bust of EOCO boss Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah Vandalized

MyNewsGH confirms that the bust of COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, the Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), has been vandalized under mysterious circumstances.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 AM when unidentified individuals stormed the EOCO premises and damaged the statue. Despite the presence of two officers at the scene, they were unable to stop the act of vandalism.

The damaged bust had been at the centre of public debate since its unveiling in October last year. Staff of EOCO commissioned and revealed the statue to honour their Executive Director, naming the surrounding area “Obaatanpa Tiwaa Gardens.”

While intended as a gesture of appreciation for her leadership and service, the move sparked considerable controversy both within and outside the organization.

Critics questioned the appropriateness of the decision, particularly its timing and execution. Social media was flooded with comments about whether EOCO staff had the mandate to independently erect such a tribute without government authorization.
