FC Nania shock Zone Three leaders Hohoe United, Okwahu United pip Golden Kick


FC Nania continued to prove themselves as genuine contenders for the Zone Three league title this season. With 18 points from all their home games, they secured a 1-0 victory against Hohoe United on Saturday, claiming third place with 25 points. Sumaila Lepoady scored the decisive goal in the 42nd minute to give his side a well-deserved victory.

Meanwhile Okwawu United returned to winning ways with a hard-fought 1-0- win against Golden Kick – their third consecutive away win. Samuel Obeng netted the match-winner in the 79th minute to earn the former Premier League all the spoils.

Attram De Visser’s winless away streak continued with a 2-0 defeat to struggling Kotoku Royals at the Oda Sports Stadium. Kwaku Owusu and Tahir Mensah scored in either half to give the home side the three points. Owusu opened the scoring in the 15th minute before Tahir Mensah added to the tally inside and 59 minutes. Okwahu United are 5th in the Zone Three table with 23 points – 5 points adrift of leaders Hohoe United.
