NPP unfazed by NDC’s appeal against High Court ruling

General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpkng Kodua has indicated that the New Patriotic Party is not perturbed by the decision of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to file an appeal against the High Court ruling that has asked that some remaining polling stations should be collated before results are declared.

An Accra High Court on January 4, 2025, ruled that the electoral commission should finalize collation in Ablekuma North, Okaikwei Central, Tema Central and Techiman South by January 6.

It also ordered the Inspector General of Police to provide security for the purpose.

The ruling did not sit down well with the National Democratic Congress, who insisted that their candidates won the various seats and they were not declared under duress.

The NDC has therefore filed an Appeal against the ruling by the High Court.

But speaking to the media, General Secretary for the NPP said “the NDC are preparing to file an appeal and stay of execution; we are not bothered by it. It is their right but at the end of the day, the truth will always stand,” he said.
