President-elect, John Dramani Mahama has mandated his Members of Parliament to nominate Alban Susana Bagbin as Speaker in the 9th Parliament.
This announcement was contained in a statement signed by Spokesperson for the Mahama transition team, Felix Ofosu Kwakye ahead of swearing in of Members of Parliament on the night of January 6.
The statement further indicated that Alban Bagbin’s wealth of experience will further strengthen Ghana’s Parliament.
Alban Bagbin was the speaker in the 8th Parliament.
