World Leaders storm Ghana for Mahama’s investiture

The eyes of the world will be on Ghana this Tuesday, January 7, 2025, as dignitaries around the world gather at Black Star Square to witness the swearing-in of President-Elect John Dramani Mahama.

Felix Kwakye Ofosu, spokesperson for the NDC Transition Team, highlighted the significance of the event, noting the presence of international representatives from the Commonwealth, the African Development Bank, and other global organizations.

This event is a very historic event because not only will a former president be returning to the presidency, but we will also have the first-ever female Vice President after receiving a historic mandate from the good people of Ghana,” Ofosu stated, underscoring the monumental significance of the day while speaking in a press conference on January 4, 2025.

Security arrangements are being reinforced, with strict access protocols ensuring the safety of dignitaries and guests. Designated seating areas have been planned meticulously.

The Swearing-In Area will host key proceedings, while the Ministries Area Stand will accommodate high-profile attendees such as outgoing President Nana Akufo-Addo, visiting Heads of State, and Vice Presidents.

The Osu Area Stand will be open to the public, offering citizens the opportunity to be part of this momentous occasion.

Kwakye Ofosu concluded by encouraging attendees to be seated by 8:30 AM, ahead of the arrival of Members of Parliament and other dignitaries who will escort the President-Elect and Vice President-Elect to the Swearing-In Area.
