Update: Kantamanto fire fully extinguished

The Ghana National Fire Service has provided an update on the fire that ravaged over 100 shops at Kantamanto in Accra.

According to the fire service, the fire has been fully extinguished with no reported injuries or fatalities.

An investigation is currently underway to determine the origin and cause of the fire.

A statement announcing this said “The fire has been fully extinguished, with no reported injuries or fatalities. An investigation is currently underway to determine the origin and cause of the fire. Our sympathies go out to the affected traders”.

MyNewsGh.com reported earlier on Thursday, January 2, 202,4 that Fire ravages parts of Kantamanto Market.

The Ghana Fire Service tried its best to contain the fire but because of the lack of hydrants in the market, the fight to contain the fire became a difficulty, hence its spreading to other parts of the market.
