SONA 2025: My vision for a prosperous, united Ghana remains undimmed

President Nana Akufo-Addo, in his final State of the Nation Address (SONA) to Parliament, took a moment to reflect on his presidency, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve Ghana.

He described the experience as the “greatest honour of my life,” acknowledging the challenges and triumphs that have defined his time in office.

“Serving the Ghanaian people as president has been the greatest honour of my life,” Akufo-Addo declared with heartfelt sincerity.

“It has been one of the great challenges and even greater triumphs, one that has demanded every ounce of my energy, commitment, and love for our beloved country.”

His words encapsulated the intensity of his tenure, filled with both moments of struggle and milestones of success.

Throughout his speech, Akufo-Addo focused on his enduring vision for Ghana’s future.

“My vision has always been to see a Ghana that is self-reliant, prosperous, and united—a beacon of hope, democracy, and opportunity in Africa and beyond,” he shared with optimism.

This vision has driven many of his policies, including initiatives aimed at economic self-sufficiency and improving access to education.

Despite the difficulties faced by the nation, from economic challenges to global disruptions, Akufo-Addo expressed confidence in Ghana’s trajectory.

“That vision remains undimmed, and I’m confident that the strides we have together will propel Ghana to even greater heights,” he asserted, his words offering reassurance for the future.
