Champion’s Legacy: Stanley Nyantakyi Takes the Spotlight at Boxing Ghana Awards

The 2024 Boxing Ghana Awards delivered energy and spectacle, celebrating boxing in an unforgettable way. Stanley Nyantakyi triumphed as Professional Boxer of the year, chosen from an impressive roster of nominees.
Boxing Ghana has established itself as a key media voice, championing the sport’s rich heritage in Ghana and internationally. These awards honor the exceptional talent and impactful contributions driving boxing’s progress.
This category featured professional boxers, including John Laryea, Joseph Commey, Theophilus Kpa, Stanley Nyantakyi amongst others. An impressive 782 fans and professionals participated in the online voting process, showcasing their enthusiasm. Stanley Nyantakyi, alias ‘Ashanti Warrior”triumphed in the competition with 192 votes, translating to 24.5%.
Stanley Nyantakyi, a talented super featherweight boxer, made his professional debut with a stunning second-round knockout of Albert Armah and continues to aim for a world championship. Signed with Osebor Boxing Management, he also claimed victory on the Sheriff Quaye vs. Bright Ayala WBO Africa lightweight championship card.
Among other notable boxers, 22-year-old John Laryea, known as “Expensive Boxer” secured a win over Alexander Mejia in Florida, gathering 149 votes (19.1%). Joseph Commey and Theophilus Kpa followed with 108 votes (13.8%) and 107 votes (13.7%), respectively. These achievements reflect the remarkable contributions of Ghanaian boxers this past year.
The Boxing Ghana Awards spotlighted these achievements, motivating companies and individuals to extend support. Mr. Sammy Ofosuhene, CEO and Managing Chief Editor of Boxing Ghana, expressed gratitude for voter engagement and commended the achievements of Ghanaian boxers, highlighting their remarkable contributions to the sport.
