Private legal practitioner and former Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Inusah Fuseini, has indicated that, but for the peace-loving nature of Ghanaians, people would have risen up against the electoral commission over their handling of electoral matters.
To him, the body charged with handling electoral issues has displayed the highest form of incompetence, which would not have been countenanced in other jurisdictions.
Inusah Fuseini was speaking on Accra-based Joy News when he made this known.
“It is only by God’s grace that the people of this country are peace loving and they have elected democracy as a form of government over any other government. The conduct of the EC which is highly incompetent could throw this country into a mess and people could rise up against the EC and this country will be in flames.
Even with the 7 constituencies, can you imagine what the conduct of the EC could do in these seven constituencies? It has been said time and again and particularly for Bossman Asare that he’s repeatedly said that the NDC was a veritable threat to our democracy.
As recently as November this year, he is reported to have told somebody that the Electoral Commission cannot allow the NDC to win the elections, and the person who he told that was alarmed,” he said on Joy News Newsfile.
