The troops of 1 Brigade, in collaboration with Sector 2 Joint Task Force North West under Operation Fansan Yamma, successfully neutralized several terrorists, including notorious kingpin Alhaji Ma’oli, on December 26, 2024.
According to a statement from Lt Col Abubakar Abdullahi, Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordination Centre, the operation occurred in Mai Sheka village, near Kunchin Kalgo town, a community long plagued by Ma’oli’s reign of terror.
The terrorist, widely feared for imposing illegal levies on residents of Unguwan Rogo, Mai Sheka, Magazawa, and other areas in Bilbis, Tsafe LGA, had terrorized the locals for an extended period.
The operation was launched after receiving intelligence about terrorists operating on motorcycles in the Bilbis axis. In a swift response, the troops successfully thwarted an impending attack and delivered a significant blow to the terrorist group by neutralizing Ma’oli.
The news is said to have triggered celebrations and brought a sense of relief and excitement to the people of Bilbis and surrounding areas, who have long suffered under the control of the terrorist kingpin.
