The Black Galaxies will depart Accra for Uyo on Friday morning ahead of the decisive Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier against Nigeria, scheduled for Saturday December 28, 2024.
The Ghanaian contingent will depart the Kotoka International Airport enroute to Uyo, Nigeria for the crucial reverse fixture.
Coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has been trimming the rough edges of his team during the festive period after they played out a pulsating goalless draw in the first leg encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium, setting the tone for a fight to finish at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.
The Ghanaian gaffer has a clear plan for the return leg which is delicately poised.
“As much as possible, we will try to keep a clean sheet, but I want to believe that we will surely score. We will score, we will open up something. I control the energy, the effort, I control the performance (of my boys), but the results, we don’t control it.” Dramani said.
The two West African nations will renew its rivalry with matches involving the two always fierce and intense.
Both teams understand the stakes, with qualification offering a platform for home-based talents to shine on the continental stage.
The eighth CHAN tournament will be hosted by Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda, from February 1-28, 2025.
