Rev. Kwadwo Bempah, Head Pastor of Holy Hill Chapel, Assemblies of God, has addressed the controversy surrounding his recent comments on the president-elect’s ORAL team, tasked with investigating alleged electoral malpractices.
Speaking during his December 22 Sunday service, he clarified points that had sparked widespread debate.
Rev. Bempah explained that his remarks on the incoming government’s ability to resolve economic challenges, particularly the dollar-cedi exchange rate, were misunderstood.
“These challenges require time and systematic intervention. As Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, ‘There is a time for everything,’” he stated.
On accountability, he affirmed that he supports justice for those guilty of wrongdoing.
“Anyone who misappropriates resources must face justice, and what belongs to the nation should be recovered,” citing Proverbs 6:30-31.
He emphasized the importance of diligence and personal effort in his message, urging his congregation to work hard and avoid dependency.
“Perseverance, faith, and focus are key for personal and communal growth,” he said, referencing Colossians 3:23.
Finally, he called on Christians to pray for all leaders, quoting 1 Timothy 2:1-2 and expressed his commitment to interceding for wisdom and strength for Ghana’s leaders.
“We wish the incoming president goodwill that God may help them to do well,” he concluded.
