12 Babies born on Christmas day at Cape Coast Teaching Hospital


In a demonstration of corporate social responsibility, MTN has provided over 60 baby hampers to mothers who gave birth on December 25th at Cape Coast Teaching Hospital.

Mrs. Priscilla Agyie, a midwifery officer representing the hospital and the Obstetrics and Gynecology department, expressed gratitude to the MTN Foundation for their generous contribution and assured that the hampers would benefit the mothers and their newborns.

In a media briefing following the presentation, Mrs. Agyie revealed that the hospital recorded the birth of 12 babies on Christmas Day, consisting of four girls and eight boys.

She noted that the hampers from MTN would alleviate some of the challenges faced by mothers and hospital staff, particularly for those who struggle to afford essential baby items after childbirth.

Mrs. Regina Arkaifie, Human Resource Manager for the South, presented the hampers on behalf of the MTN Foundation.

She emphasized that this initiative reflects the compassionate nature of the MTN brand and underscores its commitment to supporting the well-being of Ghanaians by supplying vital resources to families with newborns.

She expressed confidence that the distribution of hampers would help ease some of the burdens associated with caring for a newborn.

Mrs Arkaifie also mentioned that the MTN Foundation has distributed over 600 hampers across all 16 regions, with the Central Region receiving 60 hampers in selected hospitals.

She highlighted that this baby hamper distribution initiative exemplifies MTN’s commitment to community support and reinforces the caring aspect of its brand during the festive season.
