The Education Minister, Yaw Adutwum, has disclosed that WAEC is done with 50% of the work involved in the release of WASSCE results.
According to him, the Examination Body will release the results on or before December 29.
He made this known when he visited the offices of the West African Examination Council on Tuesday, December 24, 2024.
“I came to apprise myself of development in terms of the fact that they are working now through the holidays to get the results out on or before 29th of this month. So I came and saw the workers; scanning is being done and close to 50% is done. They assure me that by the close of work today the remaining 50% scanning will be completed. About 29th of this month the results will come out,” he said.
On how much the government owes WAEC, the Minister failed to speak to the issues and urged Journalists to seek the facts and not throw dust into the eyes of the public.
Meanwhile, the 2024 WASSCE results release has had to be delayed due to debts owed to the examination body by the Government of Ghana.
This delay has affected university admissions as students who bought awaiting forms do not know their fate.
