Hohoe United beat Kings Palace to keep hold of top spot in Zone Three


Zone Three leaders Hohoe United recorded a crucial win over Kings Palace in a 5-goal thriller away from home at the Akosombo Akotex Park on Saturday. Dawda Rakidu broke the deadlock in the 16th minute for Kings Palace whiles Faruk Mohammed and William Oduro scored two goals in the 22nd and 23rd minutes respectively to give Hohoe United a 2-1 advantage at halftime. Desmond Awuah equalized for Kings Palace 4 minutes after the break before William Oduro scored again in the 66th minute for Hohoe United – to give them a 3-2 win on the road.

FC Nania secured their fifth consecutive home win after defeating Home Stars 1-0 on Saturday. Ruben Quaye made the difference for FC Nania by scoring the decisive goal in the 73rd minute. They’re yet to concede at home in Zone Three of the Access Bank Division One League this season.

In another fiercely contested game, former Premier League side Okwawu United secured their second successive away victory after beating Akatsi All Stars with 2 unanswered goals. Mustapha Issah scored an early goal in the 7th minute for Okwawu United before Stephen Aryeetey netted an own goal in the 21st minute.
