Member of Parliament elect for the Awutu Senya East Constituency, Phillis Naa Koryoo has urged the police to expedite their investigation into election day shooting in her constituency.
To her, a life has been taken, and therefore justice must be served for the dead person and the bereaved family.
Speaking to the media, Naa Koryoo said, “I believe that a life has been taken; I believe that justice must be served. Whoever the perpetrators are, wherever they are I believe that the police can fish them out.”
The MP-elect further disclosed that she has been working closely with the police to ensure that justice is served.
“The police have been very supportive, and they give me updates on everything they do, and where there is a need for me to assist in the investigation, I do so we are on it but because the issue is under investigation I wouldn’t want to devour information on it,” she said.
The 2024 elections recorded some pockets of violence across the country.
Awutu Senya East is one of the constituencies that recorded a shooting incident leading to a loss of life.
President-elect John Dramani Mahama has assured the people of Ghana of his intentions to ensure that the killings are investigated and the perpetrators brought to book.
