Provide necessary support for stampede victims, ex-president Jonathan tells FG

Former Nigeria’s president, Goodluck Jonathan has called on the Federal Government to ensure that all the necessary support needed by the victims of the three incidents of stampede is provided.

Jonathan in a Christmas message released on Monday, December 23, described the stampede cases in Ibadan, Okija in Anambra state and Abuja as unfortunate.

He urged the relevant authorities to ensure that measures are adequately implemented to prevent such incidents from recurring.

Calling for prayers for the victims and members of their families, Jonathan said, “As we navigate through this painful period, I encourage all Nigerians to show compassion and solidarity, especially during this festive season.

“Christmas is a time of love, unity, and hope. It reminds us of the importance of caring for one another and working towards peace and harmony in our communities,” he said.

He further wished all Nigerians a Merry Christmas while urging citizens to pray for the wisdom, strength, and resilience to overcome our challenges and for brighter days ahead for our beloved country.

“I wish all Nigerians a Merry Christmas filled with joy, peace, and love. May the new year bring renewed hope and prosperity for us all,” he added.
