The Regent of the Mion Traditional Area, Naa Alhassan Abdulai, and his wife earlier this week successfully graduated with a Master of Arts in Peace, Security, and Intelligence Management from the University of Professional Studies(UPSA) in Accra, Ghana
The Chief and his wife were among hundreds of students who attended the 5th Session of the 16th Congregation Ceremony where awards of degree and postgraduate diploma certificates were given to individuals who have completed their programmes of study during the 2023/2024 academic year
Residents of Dagbon and the Mion Traditional Area have praised the Mion Regent for this achievement, noting that his Master’s degree will aid in resolving disputes and addressing peace-related issues in the Mion Traditional Area and its surroundings.
Mr Alhassan Abdulai Mahamadu in August 2022 then 29-year-old and an officer of the National Investigations Bureau at Chereponi District, was installed Regent of Mion to lead the area until a substantive Chief is enskinned.
This followed his father’s death, the late Mion-Lana Abdulai Mahamadu, on Wednesday, August 17, 2022.
The Regent, the first son of the late Mion-Lana, was taken through the area’s customs before being unveiled at the Mion Chief’s Palace at Sambu.
Naa Alhassan Abdulai, the first son of the late Mion Lana Abdulai Mahamudu, was traditionally installed as the regent following his father’s passing after a brief illness.
The installation ceremony was led by Zohe Bomahi-Naa Adam Salifu, who represented Zohe-Naa Mahamud Salifu.
