Lagos decry traffic gridlock as President Tinubu visits mother’s home in Alausa [VIDEO]

President Bola Tinubu’s visit to his mother’s residence in Alausa, Ikeja, after observing Jumat prayers at the Alausa Central Mosque, has sparked widespread criticism from Lagosians over severe traffic disruptions.

The president, who was greeted by a large crowd of family members and well-wishers, had earlier participated in a special prayer session held in his honour after the Jumat service.

The visit drew significant attention, with videos surfacing online of the mammoth crowd that gathered to welcome him.

However, Lagos residents took to social media, particularly X (formerly Twitter), to voice their frustrations over the gridlock caused by the presidential convoy and heightened security measures.

Commuters reported being stranded for hours, unable to reach their destinations as major roads in Alausa were blocked to facilitate the president’s movement.

One resident, Olusegun Bakare wrote, You guys are blocking the road and causing serious traffic .. Everything shouldn’t be about Tpain. At least for once, think about Nigerians.

Adeleye A. wrote: “The protocol team of the president should explore chopper option when the president is in Lagos in December. Today is a mess as regards traffic.
