The Member of Parliament for Effutu Constituency in the Central Region, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has asserted that the incoming NDC government has created high expectations among Ghanaians.
In an exclusive interview with Joy News, Afenyo-Markin stated that the NDC has “charged up” Ghanaians, portraying the outgoing NPP administration as ineffective and unaccomplished.
“The NDC went around telling Ghanaians that the NPP did nothing beneficial during our tenure.
In constituencies like Okaikwei North, where we lost, the people were brainwashed to the point of forgetting the infrastructure projects we implemented and the Free Senior High School policies from which many parents benefited.
Instead, they focused on bread-and-butter issues. The NDC created the impression that the NPP was corrupt and should have done more,” he remarked.
The leader of the NPP caucus described the NDC’s campaign as one steeped in propaganda and mischief, noting that while such tactics may yield short-term gains, they are likely to backfire in the long term.
“Propaganda may benefit them today, but eventually, it will catch up with them,” Afenyo-Markin concluded.
