Member of Parliament for Effutu Alexander Afenyo Markin has said that he will graciously take the Minority seat if he is made the leader of the Minority in the 9th Parliament.
He said his comments that he would not occupy the minority side in Parliament because it is not spiritually good were in the context of the 8th Parliament.
“Understand what I say in context. I remain the leader of government business and majority leader until the 6th of January 2025. I said that it was inappropriate for me to go and sit on the minority bench when I was not a minority leader.
If on the 7th of January I am the minority leader, I will sit on the minority bench and keep their feet to the fire,” he told the media in Parliament.
Ghana’s Parliament is sitting today after several weeks of inactivity over the Speaker’s decision to declare the seat of some Members of Parliament vacant because they decided to go independent.
