In a discussion on JoyNews’ Newsfile, Dennis Miracles Aboagye has shared insights into the recent election results, offering a thoughtful reflection on the stunning victory of John Dramani Mahama.
As he analyzed the political landscape, Aboagye acknowledged the monumental shift in Ghana’s electorate.
“We believed we had superior propositions to confront these issues, but I think the people thought otherwise,” he said. “They think that maybe the options that His Excellency John Dramani Mahama brings to the table will deal with their issues better than the options that we brought.”
His statement highlighted a significant moment in the race. The political strategist noted the stark contrast in vote margins between the 2016 and 2024 elections.
“You lose an election by a million and then you come back eight years later and win by 1.6 million,” Aboagye remarked. “That’s a big deal. Personally, for him as a person, as a politician, it’s a huge achievement.”
This acknowledgement comes after a tense and closely watched election, where Mahama’s resounding victory over the incumbent’s candidate was a testament to the shifting political dynamics in Ghana.
