ADB Responds to Media Falsehoods, Defends Deputy MD Eno Ofori-Atta

The Agricultural Development Bank PLC (ADB) has issued a press release strongly refuting recent allegations aimed at tarnishing its reputation and that of its Deputy Managing Director, Mrs. Eno Ofori-Atta.

The bank expressed concern over the circulation of false and defamatory information within the media, which it claims is being used to undermine its credibility.

In a statement released on Sunday, December 15, 2024, ADB categorically denied the claims, assuring its stakeholders that all actions and decisions taken by the bank are in strict adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and policies.

“We categorically refute the claims and assure our stakeholders that all decisions at ADB are guided by strict adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and policies,” the statement reads.

This firm stance comes after recent reports regarding the termination of certain employees, which the bank believes has sparked the spread of false information.

The statement elaborates that the decision to terminate the employees was made during a duly convened regular meeting of the bank’s Board of Directors. This decision, ADB emphasized, was made transparently and with due diligence.

Since joining the bank, Mrs. Eno Ofori-Atta has been a dedicated and professional leader, according to the statement.

ADB emphasized that she has maintained high standards of professionalism and that her leadership continues to drive the bank’s mission of fostering economic growth through agricultural development.

“Mrs. Eno Ofori-Atta, since joining the Bank, has held herself to high standards of professionalism and performance,” the bank affirmed.

The release further urged the public to disregard the false information being spread. ADB called the circulation of these claims a deliberate attempt to create mischief and assured the public that they should treat the rumours with the contempt they deserve.

In the press release, the bank also made it clear that it would not tolerate such defamatory actions and would pursue legal action against individuals or organizations responsible for spreading falsehoods.

“The Bank will not hesitate to pursue legal action against individuals or entities spreading such falsehoods,” it warned.
