We Never Avoided Conversations About the Economy – Richard Ahiagbah Defends NPP’s Economic Record

The Director of Communications for the NPP, Richard Ahiagbah, has asserted that President Nana Akufo-Addo performed well in managing the country’s economy.

0In an interview with Citi FM, Mr. Ahiagbah emphasized the significant growth the economy has experienced during the president’s tenure, noting that without external shocks such as the COVID-19 pandemic, the economic situation could have been much better.

He stated, “The task given to President Akufo-Addo to manage the economy, I believe he has done well.

“If you remove the shocks we’ve faced, this economy would be in a much better place than it is now. Currently, the economy is growing.

The second quarter recorded a growth of about 5.8%, and this quarter is at approximately 7%.”

Mr. Ahiagbah expressed optimism for even faster growth in 2025, pointing out that although the economy faced challenges at one point, the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government successfully revived it.

“It is not true that we avoided discussions about the economy during the campaign. We never ran away from it.

The difficulties we encountered were acknowledged,” he added.
