NDC lost Techiman South seat

The National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), Sammy Gyamfi has disclosed that the party has won all seats except the Techiman South Constituency in the Bono East Region.

Addressing a press conference on Sunday night, he disclosed that the NDC has 10 out of the 11 constituencies in that Region.

“I can tell you on authority that out of the 11 constituencies, we have won 10 out of the 11. The only one that we did not win is Techiman South but all others but we need not mention them”, he disclosed.

The disclosure of the NDC National Executive brings to rest claims by some NDC supporters in Techiman arguments that they had won the seat and went on a rampage destroying public property including the Regional Police Headquarters.

Frustrated supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who clashed with law enforcement authorities, following their dissatisfaction with the parliamentary election results, insisted they had won and disrupted the process.

The contestation surrounding the parliamentary outcome in the constituency has sparked widespread protests, leading to heated confrontations between NDC supporters and the police. The unrest has resulted in the vandalism of electoral materials as well as the Regional Police Headquarters

Video footage circulating on social media shows damaged ballot papers scattered across the ground, further fueling suspicions and anger among the opposition.

The NDC supporters argue that the election was marred by irregularities, with the reported outcome not reflecting the will of the people in the area despite the fact their agents signed at the respective polling stations.
