Tinubu Approves 4 Fresh Appointments


On Friday, December 6, the presidency announced the approval of the appointment of Chief Executive Officers for some Nigeria’s establishments by President Bola Tinubu.

The special adviser to the president on information and strategy, Bayo Onanuga in a statement said the establishments include the National Universities Commission, the New Partnership for Africa Development, the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council and the Solid Minerals Development Fund/Presidential Artisanal Gold Mining Initiative.

According to Onanuga, the president appointed Abdullahi Ribadu, a visiting professor at the NUC, as the organisation’s Executive Secretary.

He said Ribadu, a veterinary reproduction expert served as the vice chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Yola, and the Sule Lamido University, Jigawa State.

Also appointed by the president is Salisu Shehu, a who a renowned academic in educational and human Psychology as the new Executive Secretary of the NERDC.

Professor Shehu, the presidential aide said was instrumental in establishing the School of Continuing Education at Bayero University, Kano, and was the Vice-Chancellor of Al-Istiqamah University, Kano.

Jabiru Abdullahi Tsauri’s was appointment as the National Coordinator of NEPAD while Yazid Danfulani as the new Executive Secretary of the SMDF/PAGMI.Tsauri holds a Master’s in International Affairs and Diplomacy from Ahmadu Bello University and is an expert in legislative affairs, global affairs, and democratic governance and vast experience in public service.

Danfulani has extensive experience in Banking, Computing, and Business Administration and had once worked at the Central Bank of Nigeria.

He was also a Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in Zamfara State, according to Onanuga.
