Alan Kyerematen, the founder and flagbearer of the Movement for Change, is confident that he has what it takes to shake up Ghana’s political landscape in the upcoming December 7 elections.
Speaking on Lawson TV/Radio Ghana Se Sen with Kwame Tanko, Kyerematen shared his thoughts on the state of Ghanaian politics and the key demographic that will play a pivotal role in the election.
He revealed, “60% of Ghanaians are committed to either the NPP or NDC, and this group is primarily made up of voters aged between 18 and 35.” This demographic, he believes, is critical to the outcome of the election.
According to Kyerematen, young voters have become disillusioned with the traditional political parties, the NPP and NDC, because these parties have failed to address their needs and aspirations.
“These voters have realized that the NPP and NDC have not delivered for them,” he said. “Now, they have a credible leader in me, Alan Kyerematen.”
Kyerematen’s confidence was evident as he boldly declared his intention to win the election. “I will win the election with one touch,” he stated, stressing that while he would not disclose any specific figures, his victory would be decisive.
His boldness did not end there. “People will receive the shock of their lives,” he declared, hinting that the political landscape might change in a way many are not expecting.
He went on to explain the division within the NPP, saying, “The NPP has always been divided between me and President Akufo-Addo.”
Kyerematen believes that this divide has played a role in shaping voter sentiments, and he predicts that the upcoming election will be a 50/50 split, with many voters opting for “skirt and blouse” voting, where they choose candidates from different political parties for different positions.
“I believe the December 7 election will be a 50/50 split, with 50% of voters choosing to vote ‘skirt and blouse,’” he asserted.
