The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Board of Trustees, Senator Adolphus Wabara, has criticized the economic policies of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, accusing it of increasing poverty and hardship across Nigeria.
Wabara made the remarks during an emergency meeting of the PDP Board of Trustees in Abuja on Thursday, December 5, 2024.
He argued that the current administration’s economic reforms, particularly in the wake of skyrocketing living costs, have pushed millions of Nigerians into deeper poverty.
“The skyrocketing cost of living, coupled with poorly implemented economic reforms, has pushed millions into deeper poverty,” Wabara stated.
In his address, Wabara also emphasized the need for the PDP to remain united in its vision for the country’s future.
He urged party members to put aside personal ambitions and differences, stressing that the party’s collective progress should take precedence over individual goals.
“We cannot afford to let personal ambitions or differences overshadow our shared vision for a better Nigeria,” he added.
The PDP leader’s remarks come at a time of growing discontent among Nigerians over the country’s economic situation, with many calling for urgent reforms and policies that can alleviate the widespread poverty affecting millions.
