Apostle Dr. Stephen Kwame Amoani, the former chairman of the Christ Apostolic Church International, has recently shared his admiration for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s presidential candidate, praising him as a unifying figure with exemplary character.
In an exclusive video shared with MyNewsGh, Dr. Amoani recalled his first encounter with Dr. Bawumia back in 2015 during a courtesy visit. At that time, Bawumia had no intentions of running for president, yet Dr. Amoani recognized a special quality in him.
“Even though he had no presidential ambitions then, I saw something in him that was unique—his character, his calm demeanour, and his genuine concern for people,” he remarked.
Dr. Amoani went on to highlight Bawumia’s compassion for humanity, which he believes sets him apart from many other politicians. “Dr. Bawumia is a man of compassion, and this is something that cannot be faked.
His political tolerance and respect for people, regardless of their background or beliefs, is unmatched,” Dr. Amoani stated, emphasizing how Bawumia’s character resonates beyond his political career. “He’s not just a leader by title; he leads with a heart for the people.”
A key point of contention in the political landscape has been the criticism suggesting that Bawumia’s engagement with the Christian community is a mere strategic move to secure votes.
Dr. Amoani was quick to defend Bawumia, affirming that his connection with the Christian community runs deeper than political ambition. “I’ve been in prayerful fellowship with Dr. Bawumia for years now, and I can confidently tell you that his rapport with Christians is genuine,” he said. “This is not a strategy; it’s a reflection of his true character.”
He went on to describe Bawumia as a charismatic personality who has consistently shown a deep understanding of the nation’s needs. “He’s someone who has the ability to unite us all. His leadership is exactly what Ghana needs at this moment,” Dr. Amoani asserted.
