King of the Ashanti Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has denied claims of a strained relationship between Manhyia and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He indicates that Manhya’s doors are always open to anyone who wants to visit the palace.
Otumfuo made this known when a delegation led by John Dramani Mahama visited Otumfuo’s Palace.
He indicated that his throne is not bigger than Ghana; therefore, he cannot bar anyone from coming to Manhyia.
“Manhyia is always part of the discourse, and as a father, I have opened my doors to anyone who wants to come here. Ghana is bigger than all of us. What we want is the development of the country and nothing else. That is why we go for elections every four years. The people have a choice to choose who they think can lead the country.
What I’ve always said is that tell the people what you have done and what you intend to do when you come. It is left with the people to make their choice through free and fair elections. All we are asking for is a free and fair election so that the choice of leader reflects the choice of the people,” he said.
