Fubara Vows to Defend Mandate in Rivers State, Offers Advice to Residents


Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminialayi Fubara, has reaffirmed his commitment to defending the mandate given to him by the people.

Fubara made this vow while speaking at the funeral service of late Mrs Erefori Basi Maeba, mother of Senator Lee Maeba, in Luuwa Community, Khana Local Government Area of the state.

According to Fubara, the interest of the people remains a top priority for his administration. “The government under our watch will continue to make and take the interest of our people very important,” he said. “We will not play or jeopardize this support and this mandate that you are giving to us, we will defend it and we will make you proud.”

Fubara emphasized the importance of living a quality and exemplary life, which would have a lasting positive impact on society. He advised residents to focus on endeavours that contribute to the advancement of society, help individuals, and promote peace at all times.

The governor also reflected on the importance of honouring one’s parents while they are still alive. “We should, when our parents are alive, also honour them. That is the most important thing,” he said.

Fubara commended the children of the late Mrs Maeba for maintaining a good relationship with their mother while she was alive. He thanked everyone who came to support Senator Maeba and his family, emphasizing the importance of living a fulfilled life.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti; former Governors of Rivers State, Chibuike Amaechi and Sir Celestine Omehia; and former Deputy Governor, Engr Tele Ikuru.
