Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party(NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia on Sunday, December 1, 2024, left the Juaben and Asante Akyem North Constituencies with a renewed hope of victory ahead of the December 7, 2024 polls.
Thousands of residents who thronged the principal streets of the two constituencies could not help but admire the Vice President who outlined his vision for the country and reiterated the need for them to be hopeful for better days under his presidency.
Dr. Bawumia had already toured major parts of the Ashanti Region earlier in the campaign, but the two constituencies left were cleared on Sunday by the Vice President who is optimistic of victory in Saturday’s polls.
Speaking at the commissioning of the STEM School in Juaben, Dr. Bawumia emphasized the pivotal role that science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education would play in transforming the country’s future.
“Under my leadership, Ghana will actively engage in the Fourth Industrial Revolution,” he stated, stressing that the nation’s development would be fueled by strategic investments in STEM education and digitalization.
The Vice President reflected on the government’s track record, particularly in senior high school education, but assured the people of Ghana that junior high schools would also benefit from focused educational reforms.
“While we’ve made strides in advancing senior high school education, our focus will now extend to junior high schools, with a special emphasis on STEM,” he said.
As part of his broader outreach ahead of the December elections, Dr Bawumia underscored his belief in the power of prayer and divine intervention in steering the nation toward prosperity during his visit to the Believers Worship Centre, popularly known as Philadelphia, on Sunday.
Addressing a packed congregation, Dr. Bawumia emphasized the pivotal role of faith in leadership. “Governance is not merely about policies and programs; it is about seeking God’s guidance to ensure the well-being of our people.
With your support, I will continue to put God at the center of Ghana’s development,” he said, his voice resonating through the church hall Travel packages
In a move that highlights his inclusive approach to spirituality, Dr. Bawumia proposed the establishment of a Pilgrimage Authority.
This initiative, he explained, would enable Ghanaians of different faiths to undertake religious pilgrimages.
“Muslims will perform the Hajj in Saudi Arabia to pray for the prosperity of our nation, and Christians will visit Israel to connect with their faith and seek divine intervention for Ghana. It’s about building a nation rooted in prayer and unity,” he shared with conviction.
