Days after Simon Ekpa’s arrest in Finland, Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer speaks

Ifeanyi Ejiofor, the counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has reacted to the arrest of Simon Ekpa, the factional leader of the proscribed group.

In a statement issued on Monday, November 25, Ejiofor called for the restoration of peace in the Southeast region.

He called on all those involved in the killing of residents in the region and their enablers to desist from fanning the embers of violence in the Southeast.

According to Ejiofor, the continued marginalization of the Igbo people should propel the people to push for unity.

Urging the people to reject violence, fraud, criminality and abuse as a strategy, the IPOB lawyer said those still clinging to the baseless December declaration should be assured that December will come and go uneventfully.

“I have always maintained that lies, deceit, fraud, treachery and criminality have an expiration date.

“When the truth reaches its breaking point, it is inevitable: Game Over. To those still clinging to the baseless December declaration, rest assured, December will come and go uneventfully,” Ejiofor said.

Kanu’s lawyer further warned the Igbos to ensure that they are always self-aware and resist the moves of any serial fraudster who plans to swindle them.
