OKTAGON MMA set to break UFC record with monstrous 60,000-seater stadium show in Germany

OKTAGON MMA are set to break UFC’s attendance record with a monstrous 60,000-seater stadium show.

Europe’s leading MMA organisation will return to Germany with a star-studded card, headlined by German icons Christian Eckerlin vs. Christian Jungwirth.

OKTAGON 62 will be held at the Deutsche Bank Park – home to Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt – on October 12 in what will be a record-breaking event for the promotion.

A gigantic crowd is expected to be in attendance for the huge Frankfurt card, which will break UFC‘s attendance record.

UFC 243, headlined by Israel Adesanya vs. Robert Whittaker, attracted 57,127 fans at the Marvel Stadium in Melborune, Australia, back in October 2019.

OKTAGON MMA are set to welcome a staggering 60,000 spectators for next month’s must-see bill.

The blockbuster welterweight clash between Eckerlin and Jungwirth tops the card, with OKTAGON MMA middleweight champion Patrik Kincl also in action as he defends his title against Kerim Engizek.

OKTAGON 62 also features Ireland’s Will Fleury, who made a big impression in his OKTAGON MMA debut, and UK prospect James Hendin.

OKTAGON MMA co-owner Pavol Neruda said: “It’s crazy, it’s amazing. The arena is so huge, the atmosphere is so big, and this is us making a massive statement to the world.

“We sold 40,000 within the first 3 weeks, before we even announced many fights, and I think that that shows how we have built a brand that the public can trust.

“They know that an OKTAGON event is a great experience – somewhere they can go with their friends and have six hours of fun.

“We feel at home in Frankfurt, it’s a huge city and we feel a part of the city. We have announced Eckerlin and Coga on the card, who are local names, and I think this combination worked really well.”
