Is Harry Kane fit for England’s UEFA Nations League games: Injury update on Three Lions captain

Harry Kane is confident of being able to join up with Lee Carsley’s England squad for UEFA Nations League duty next week.

Carsley announces his second squad as interim boss on October 3, ahead of hosting Greece at Wembley Stadium on October 10, and a clash with Finland in Helsinki three days later.

Ahead of the announcement, Carsley has checked in on Kane, after he was forced off in the final minutes of Bayern Munich’s 1-1 weekend Bundesliga draw with Bayer Leverkusen.

As per reports from the Daily Mail, Kane is now a doubt for Bayern Munich’s UEFA Champions League clash with Aston Villa in midweek, as he heads for further tests.

Carsley will await a more detailed update before deciding on whether to include his captain in the upcoming panel but he is cautiously optimistic over the 31-year-old’s availability.

Harry Kane’s England stats, goals, trophies

Carsley kicked off his tenure in charge of the senior team with wins of the Republic of Ireland and Finland as Kane scored twice in the latter game at Wembley.

That double marked a special night for Kane, as he picked up his 100th international cap, and brought his England goal tally to 68.

Kane is well clear as England’s leading goal scorer in men’s international action with second place Wayne Rooney on 53.

His 100 international appearances place him 10th on the all-time Three Lions list with Peter Shilton No.1 on 125 caps.

England’s next games

England face two games in October and two more in November as part of the six-match Nations League series as they look to gain promotion from League B back into League A.

Below are the Three Lions remaining fixtures in 2024:

  • Greece (H) – October, 10
  • Finland (A) – October 13
  • Greece (A) – November 14
  • Republic of Ireland (H) – November 17
